Two Traders, One Strategy, Different Results
By Dave Mabe
Are you trading a strategy that you know other people trade?
And if so, are you doing as well as they are?
It's surprising to traders just how much your results can differ from someone else trading the exact same strategy.
How can it be that two traders can trade the same strategy but one prints money while the other one loses?
You'll hear gurus say:
The strategy matches the personality of one but not the other.
But this is total BS.
I've even seen trading firms give personality tests like Myers-Briggs to slot traders into a certain strategy.
("I'm an introvert, so I guess I can't trade strategy X that prints money, but my friend is an Ares, so the strategy works for him." lol)
The real reason traders have wildly different results trading the same strategy is pretty simple.
The trader making money has a better process for figuring out which trades to skip and which ones to take.
The exact same basic strategy; one is just trading a different subset of trades.
You don't have to see a shrink to become profitable.
Just build a better edge from a simple starting point.
