Pros Keep Score
By Dave Mabe
Your response to a single question tells me whether you're a losing trader.
I've talked to at least dozens, probably hundreds, of traders.
There's no single question I can ask to determine whether they're profitable, but there is one that can tell me whether they're unprofitable.
Do you keep a trading journal?
If you answer no, there's almost a 100% chance you're losing money.
Why is that?
The answer is simple.
The pros keep score.
They're humble enough to understand that they don't have all the answers.
They realize there's a good chance some of their trading assumptions are wrong.
They know the market will change and they'll have to adapt to stay in the game.
They understand their minds can play tricks on them.
But the cold, hard facts don't lie.
Keeping a journal is confronting your mistakes and learning from them.
Having the humility to know you don't have all the answers, even if you've been successful outside of trading.
Do you have enough humility to keep score?
The pros do.
